About Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Overview of the National Organization
Sigma Alpha Epsilon was founded on March 9, 1856 by eight men at the University of Alabama, in a small building known as the "Mansion House." Since that time the face of college life and the fraternity itself has changed drastically. SAE is the only southern fraternity to have survived the American Civil War. Since that time it has risen through the fraternal ranks and is currently the largest social fraternity in North America with 207 active chapters and over 273,000 initiated members. It was the first fraternity to have a national headquarters, a national leadership school, a national Men's Health Issues committee, and a career-developing program entitled the "Leading Edge." With their core values revolving around loyalty, friendship, honor, and fraternity, SAE has become a very strong organization through support of members and alumni. The guiding force behind all Sigma Alpha Epsilon's interaction is the "True Gentleman."

"I decided on Sigma Alpha Epsilon because my mom always said she was going to raise me to be a gentleman . . ."
ONE YEAR!!! our one year anniversary came up on us so fast we didnt even see it coming. A lot has happened in the last year. most recently in conjunction with the brothers of Sigma Tau Gamma we have just pulled of the wildly successful philanthropy event "Music 4 Miracles" raising over 1100 dollars for Childrens Miracle Network. We will be presenting the money to CMN at their annual telethon. Our membership is growing in size and potential. as we all take on more responsibilities we are beginning to see some of the positive effects. Vice President Tom Kutz has just been elected to student senate as an At-Large senator. That means the entire student body voted and Tom was one of the three selected to represent EVERYONE! Garrett Sage has taken on additonal responsibilities in his hall joining the exec team. Jim and Jon will be moving in to the same house next semester and with us that close next year our potential is unlimited. Will is an active member of the Jazz band and Bill nearly grabbed the Student Association president position. All of our members are doing great hitngs, not jsut the ones I mentioned. If we cna do this much in one year I cant wait to see what we can do with this years experiences under our belt. Next year is taking shape and looks to be even more successful than this year. I guarentee you will be hearing from the True Gentlemen of Sigma Alpha Epsilon
